Small essay on how @Gargron could add two tiny features to #Mastodon that would make it, and the #Fediverse as a whole, way more accessible and comfortable for multi-lingual posters or followers thereof.
He isn't convinced.
Opinions?

So because the base64 #Rust crate decided to ditch support for any Rust version older than the latest summer, I created base64-compat. Fork with simple change to support Rust v1.19.0.

@Joanie Hey! (Assuming you don't speak Dutch.) I saw your photos on the Ende Gelände action, love it! How did you get involved? Seems like I would want to be part of this next time!

If you are using Jabber/XMPP but haven’t been able to convince your friends yet, you should get them to use http://Quicksy.im instead. It will only take them 60 seconds to sign up and contact you on your regular XMPP address.

As @eiaine@twitter.com wrote, Bitcoin, unlike banks, is transparent about its risks.
I guess anti-BTC & nocoiners who jumped on the bandwagon of criticizing POW on @NickSzabo4@twitter.com's objective tweet would prefer for $billion transfers to take 3 years and cost €4m!! 😂

Hmm, I forgot to take the price into account. Nevertheless, considering a population of 10 billion people, that'd give 210,000 units per person. In a euro-world with 2 decimals f.e., that'd be just 2,100 euros.
That's not even taking wealth inequality into account, which would mean that poorer countries have even less units to work with.
